Oaxaca communities surveyed by the land privatization program PROCEDE up to April 2005. Some data processed by Mexico Indigena, from the appendix "Directorio de nucleos agrarios con cartografia entregada para su certificacion y titulacion por municipio", in the booklet "Nucleos agrarios con cartografia entregada: Avances del Programa de Certificación de Derechos Ejidales y Titulación de Solares" , downloaded from <https://www.inegi.gob.mx/prod_serv/contenidos/espanol> /biblioteca/Default.asp?accion=1&UPC=702825000200 Some data processed by Mexico Indigena, from INEGI CD-ROM "Censo de Poblacion y Vivienda 2000". Original ITER files were copied and cleaned as Excel tables.

Because it includes small groupings of houses, farmsteads, military bases, and other features, the universe of INEGI localidades is larger than the universe of nucleos agrarios (potential or actual PROCEDE-surveyed communities). Therefore, a localidad listed as "not surveyed by PROCEDE" does not necessarily mean it was ever eligible for PROCEDE survey work. This discrepency may be reduced, but not eliminated, by discarding all localidades below a chosen population threshold.

Mexico Indigena decided case by case whether each INEGI localidad name was a close enough match to each PROCEDE nucleo agrario (or asentamiento humano) name. Approximately 5 per cent of the matches may be uncertain.
